About Tara

I started my Graphic Design journey when I was 6 years old and Mrs. Boswick suggested to my parents that I had talent that should be nurtured. I took art classes from the time I was 6 until I graduated high school. My senior year of high school I was the Art Editor of my class’ yearbook and that solidified what Mrs. Boswick saw in me all those years ago. I am an artist. When I graduated Drexel University with a degree in Graphic Design, Mrs. Boswick came to my senior show.

Over the years I have had many opportunities to reinvent myself and possibly take my career trajectory in a different direction. Every time I reconsider my path I am brought back to my love of design. I have augmented my skills set to blend traditional print production with digital communication strategies. My favorite part of the newest technologies is the quantifiable measure of the success of a campaign based on clicks or engagements with the creative I’ve presented. Whether it’s designing brochures, annual reports, websites, social media content, or email campaigns, I’m all about crafting designs that align with business goals and speak to the audience.

I love working…and I love what I do. But there is more to life than a 9 to 5 and I’m here for all that life has to offer. I am an active Scout leader helping our Council with logos, print materials, and leadership. I developed a course to teach other adult leaders how to teach the Art Merit Badge! It’s been a wonderful gift to be able to share my talents with my scouting community.

My other passion is my weekly volunteer shift at my local animal shelter. I grew up with all kinds of furry creatures and as an adult had all means of furry creatures. When my dog crossed the rainbow bridge, I thought I’d foster. Well…I failed (picture 1). Then I went TO the shelter to volunteer with the dogs (picture 2). But I found my heard with the shelter cats (picture 3). It is humbling to share love with a friend who needs and deserves all the snuggles as they wait for their furever families.
